ATMC is a nationally recognised educational institute in the state of Victoria, Australia.
The Australian Technical & Management College’s (ATMC) educational journey started as a series of teaching institutions in major cities of the Indian subcontinent that provided a pathway for students into higher educational facilities. The ATMC then looked to Australia to collaborate with two recognised regional universities with proven strengths, in Information Technology and Business Studies. Outstanding candidates were found with the Federation University Australia (FedUni) which is proudly Australia’s third oldest university and Charles Darwin University (CDU) which is ranked in the top 2% of world universities.
The ATMC is now a nationally recognised Australian educational institute. The ATMC is well established with a campus in Geelong, and three campuses in Melbourne. At the ATMC campus in Geelong students enjoy studying and living in a historical regional city while those at the ATMC Melbourne campuses enjoy studying in one of the most liveable cities in the world.
The ATMC in association with FedUni and CDU offers an exciting collection of Bachelor Degrees, Associate Degrees, Graduate Diplomas, Master Degrees in Information Technology and Information Systems and Bachelor and Master Degrees in Business and Accounting. There is an absolute commitment to keeping the degree programs offered up-to-date at all times and relevant to the industry environment nationally and internationally. At the ATMC the class sizes are small, so that students enjoy the learning experience and don’t get lost in the crowd. Staff are accessible. At the ATMC students are a name not just a number. In fact, academic and administrative staff get to know the students.
Resources are put back into the College to develop facilities and services that benefit students. The College employs contemporary technology in all aspects of the business, delivery and services.
Classrooms are spacious, fully air-conditioned and inviting. The classrooms are equipped with technologically up to date learning and teaching equipment and resources. The ATMC is dedicated to providing the latest and best hardware and software solutions for all students. From diverse operating systems (such as XP, Linux and UNIX) to high end applications software (such as .NET, Java Enterprise, Case Tools etc). ATMC provides training in all of these areas. All labs are equipped with high-end HP servers, Database management solutions, latest multimedia workstations and wireless devices.
At the ATMC we recognise that students might need additional help with their academic studies. So at ATMC, we assign mentors to each of our students. This offering is open to all ATMC students, free of charge, whereby they are able to work with high-performing, more senior students, who act as their mentors. These mentors, students with specialised knowledge who have excelled academically, are employed to assist students, whether individually or in small study groups.

While academic excellence was, and remains, highly valued, the ATMC provides niche advantages in the range, depth and suitability of its student support services, not available at most other similar educational providers.
Leadership in the College’s governance is a further important aspect of quality. The College’s Council is chaired by Dr John Harvey who, during an illustrious career with IBM, has played a leading role in the founding and operations of the Federation University Australia's Technology Park which is now the largest technology park in regional Australia and in the implementation of an innovative “Earn as you Learn” professional practice higher education degree in information technology.

The ATMC Academic Board consists of experienced academics who will act as mentors to staff as well as overseeing the academic quality and integrity of the programs delivered by ATMC on behalf of their University Partners and also the Vocational Diploma and English Courses offered at all ATMC campuses.
The Academic Board will regularly review and respond to the student evaluations of courses, services and teaching. It will also oversee the professional development program for ATMC staff which aims to develop the scholarship and teaching skills of staff. Members of the Academic board will also be invited to lecture at appropriate times and thereby provide mentoring for less experienced staff.
The Academic Board like the Council will ensure that consistent, enduring quality is delivered in ATMC’s programs and operations.
The College’s strategic vision has been to expand the ATMC’s operations into the international sphere and a considerable amount of resources and energy has been dedicated to the pursuit of this goal.
The established ‘base’ in India with ATMC’s Australian IT Skills Colleges will progressively expand into neighbouring Pakistan and Sri Lanka. A campus in Colombo has been opened in conjunction with the Federation University Australia. View article published in Sunday Times.
Further target countries and regions include China, the Middle East and Switzerland, where a feasibility study is underway for a Geneva based campus. Other locations are under active consideration, which will in due course contribute toward an international network of campuses with core values and academic offerings, each ‘tailored’ to respond to the particular international location.
With these opportunities in mind, the College’s marketing team has been expanded correspondingly to provide ‘face to face’ exchanges between international partners and the authorities that determine what programs can be offered by whom in their jurisdictions. The Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, General Manager and the Chief Academic Officer are among those who ‘fly the ATMC flag’ in international target locations. In addition, specialized marketing staff members who have well-established positive working relationships within the sub-continent, south-east Asia, Middle East and China frequently visit and liaise with colleagues and clients.
The descriptor of ‘College” is an apt one for the ATMC, as it recognizes the ‘collegiate’ attitude between fellow staff and their students. It also connotes the caring, interest and concern shown by staff towards the student body be it through ready personal access, social intermingling or the wide-spread provision of specialized services that support settling into the Australian culture, developing English language skills, providing career advice and the like.
The aim is not just to make a successful business, or even an academic institution that is recognized for excellent outcomes, but to create a place where the families of international students will be befriended, supported and encouraged as important human beings who are welcomed into the ATMC family. At the completion of their ATMC studies our students will in turn go on to serve future generations. Making a positive difference throughout their professional careers in their countries of origin and elsewhere around the globe will be the ‘hall mark’ of their ATMC educational experience.
